Italy

An Unplanned Adventure

I’m currently writing these lines while sitting on a plane to Italy. Why? Well, 33 hours ago, I got a phone call from my best friend, and before I knew it, I was talking to my boss two hours later to arrange time off. (At the time of writing this, I haven’t even launched my travel business yet!)

Moral of the story? Life is unpredictable. One minute, you’re planning breakfast with friends on the island you live on, and the next, you’re buying a flight ticket for a spontaneous 48-hour trip to another island. I’ll update this story soon, but let’s talk about Italy!

This isn’t my first trip to Italy—far from it. I’ve been so many times that I’ve lost count. Tuscany, for instance, is one of the most magical places on Earth. And even the controversial, tourist-heavy Venice holds countless memories for me. Italy is huge, and though all roads famously lead to Rome, there’s so much more to explore.

Wherever you go, history will follow you with every step you take on those cobblestone streets. But there’s a bit of caution needed while planning your trip. Italy is incredibly touristy, and it’s easy to fall into tourist traps or find yourself lost in a sea of people. Oh, and driving? Be extra careful—not just because of their entertaining driving style, but also because you can rack up hefty fines for driving into restricted areas.

But here’s the best part—Italy is the land of hidden gems! These treasures are everywhere, waiting to be found. But they’re often tricky to discover unless you know what you’re looking for. This is one of my favorite things to explore, and Italy feels like the birthplace of these secret spots.

Whether you're heading to Rome or an off-the-beaten-path town in Tuscany, feel free to reach out—I’d love to help you make the most out of your trip!

Oh, and by the way, the spontaneous trip to Sicily? It ended up being one of my favorite trips ever.
