Hungary

This one hits very close to home—literally.
I’m Hungarian and spent the first 21 years of my life living there. My relationship with my country is complicated: I want to love it wholeheartedly, but I often find it difficult. Despite this, Hungary is filled with places I hold dear.
I grew up in Budapest, a truly stunning city, but I’ve also spent countless hours exploring other parts of the country over the years. And let me tell you—it’s absolutely worth venturing beyond Budapest.
If you’re planning a trip to Budapest, don’t just stick to the typical tourist sights like the Chain Bridge or Parliament. While those are beautiful, there’s so much more hidden beneath the surface. For instance, did you know there’s a historic hospital inside a cave that’s now a museum? And that’s just one of the countless hidden treasures you won’t find with a simple Google search.
Even though I now live on the Canary Islands and travel often, I still visit Hungary regularly. If I happen to be there when you are, I’d love to grab a coffee, and who knows—maybe even explore a bit together!
Whether you’re planning a full-on Hungary road trip or just a visit to Budapest, I’m here to help. With my firsthand experience, I can guide you to places that took me 21 years to discover.
If you’re even just thinking about visiting Hungary, feel free to reach out—I’d be more than happy to assist you!
