Slovakia
Slovakia is an absolute hidden gem for nature lovers, especially if you’re into hiking and the great outdoors.
I’ve been there many times, and most of my trips have revolved around exploring the stunning hiking trails that the country has to offer. While Slovakia might not be the first place that comes to mind for outdoor adventures, I can tell you from experience that it is one of the best-kept secrets in Europe for hiking.
One of my all-time favourite hikes has to be Suchá Belá in Slovak Paradise National Park. It’s an exciting and adventurous trail, with ladders, waterfalls, and stunning canyon views. It’s the kind of hike that feels like a real adventure, with plenty of variety and challenges, but it’s so worth it. If you love hiking, this one should definitely be on your list.
But to be honest, finding the right trails in Slovakia can sometimes be tricky. The country has so many hidden gems, but they aren’t always well-marked or as tourist-friendly as you might expect. That’s why planning ahead is key if you want to make the most of your trip. If you’re looking for something a bit more relaxed, there are also countless scenic trails through forests, valleys, and up to amazing viewpoints. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for an easy day hike, Slovakia really has something for everyone.
At the end of the day, Slovakia is a place where you can really connect with nature, whether you’re hiking, skiing, or simply exploring its charming towns and countryside. If you’re interested in discovering some of these lesser-known trails and spots, feel free to reach out. I’d love to help you plan a trip that shows off the best of Slovakia’s outdoors!
